The farm
On the hills of Maiori, the De Riso family grows Costa d’Amalfi PGI lemons.
On the slopes of the hills of Maiori, near the medieval fortress of San Nicola de Thoro-Plano, the Sole farm expresses the unconditional love the De Riso family has had for this land for generations.
The family grows, processes and sells the prized Costa d’Amalfi PGI lemons. Over the years it has bought about 10,000 square metres of land in many parts of the Amalfi Coast, giving the final consumer traceability and safety for an excellent product, and the genuineness of the plants and fruit.
Being a single-crop business, it is not exposed to the improper use of pesticides and the resulting risk of cross-contamination.
The Sole farm is GLOBAL G.A.P. certified and registered in the Register of I.G.P. Limone Costa d’Amalfi producers: it is therefore bound by the rules of the Production Specification of the Costa d’Amalfi PGI Lemon and guarantees good agricultural practice, with traceability and safety systems for its production processes, to give the final consumer the greatest genuineness of the product.

Type of intervention 4.1.1 “Support for investments in agricultural holdings”
Investment project: Rationalisation of a Costa d’Amalfi PGI lemon grove, renovation of farm outbuildings and rainwater collection tanks, purchase and creation of an e-commerce platform for selling the farm’s produce.
Objectives and results
With the investment project co-financed by the RDP, the farm “Sole” di De Riso Carlo e C. pursues several objectives. The land improvements carried out on the citrus groves and the purchase of innovative farm machinery increase the farm’s income: it has been possible to improve the quality of production and reduce waste. The works aim at energy efficiency and at making the production processes more environmentally sustainable. Production cycles will use new technologies, in particular high thermodynamic efficiency machines, while with the online sales platform the farm aims to widen its reference markets.
